Summary
“Tras la escoba » is a street theatre show that tells the workday of a 1960’s andalusian street-sweeper, observed by his “neighbor” the street’s newsagent. With his trolley and his mascot, a belgian shepherd that turns out to be far more clever than him, he’ll be trying his best to keep the street clean. But soon he’ll have to deal with a hoast of awkward situations provoked by his toughtlessness… Eventually all the confusion will transorm into stunning circus acts full of wits and dexterity: broom juggling, acrobatics, balancing, music. A touching gestural clown show with an ambiance reminiscent of the silent cinema. Video

La teatral (Spanish Theatre News Magazine). The company Barré, a group linked the the circus movement “La Carpa de Pizarra”(Pizarra’s Circus Tent”), just presented its first show, named “Tras la Escoba”. A show about a street sweeper and a surprise guest: a street dog which makes the cherry on top of the show. The story is structured around diferent circus numbers which include fundamentlly acrobacy, balancing and juggling, for which the street sweeper will use his wide collection of brooms. Then the Dogs comes in and attracts all the audience’s looks, especially the younger ones’. His role combines complicity with the sweeper and a few cheeky tricks like stealing the lunch. We clap our hands at this performance and where is comes from: a circus tent that represents the axis of circus in Andalusia. Diario del alto Aragón ( F.J.P.) The two actors of the company Barré and the extraordinary dog that completes the “troupe”, got set up in the Town-Hall’s front yard and got the laughs going around the audience packed on the stairs and sitting on the ground. The impossible juggling with brooms and brushes, and mischieves of the likeable dog conquired the audience. A great show. Credits
